Bottom Inlet Fill Valve
Also known as: fill valve, refill valve, float valve, Fluidmaster valve
The valve that refills the cistern after flushing. A modern, more reliable replacement for the old side-entry ball valve, connected at the base of the cistern.
Inside the cistern, connected to the water supply at the base. The water inlet pipe goes through the bottom of the cistern.
Tall plastic tower with an adjustable float arm at the side, usually white or black. Fluidmaster 400A is the most common type.

Always turn off the water supply before replacing any part. If in doubt, consult a qualified plumber. Gas components must only be worked on by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
