TRV Head (Thermostatic Radiator Valve Head)
Also known as: TRV, thermostatic head, radiator thermostat
The temperature-sensing head that screws onto a TRV body to automatically control radiator output. Contains a wax or liquid element that expands as the room warms, closing the valve.
On the flow side of radiators fitted with TRVs — typically the bottom left or bottom right.
Plastic or chrome head with a numbered dial from 1 to 5 (or Frost/1–5/*). Unscrews from the valve body by hand or with a spanner.

Always turn off the water supply before replacing any part. If in doubt, consult a qualified plumber. Gas components must only be worked on by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
