Thermostatic Shower Cartridge

The internal thermostatic element inside a thermostatic shower valve. It maintains a constant water temperature and provides scald protection by mixing hot and cold water automatically.
Inside the shower valve body, accessed by removing the handle and trim plate.
Cylindrical plastic and brass cartridge, brand-specific sizing. Usually retained by a clip or retaining nut inside the valve.
